We are seeking a skilled SolidWorks Electrical Engineer to support the development of electrical schematics and wiring harness designs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SolidWorks Electrical, working from hand markups, and creating standardized component libraries. This role will initially focus on schematic and harness design independent of 3D models, with future integration into full 3D electrical design workflows.

  • Develop electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical based on hand-marked drawings and engineering inputs
  • Design wiring harnesses for GSE (aerospace ground handling equipment)
  • Create and maintain electrical component libraries, including:
    • Symbols
    • Manufacturer parts
    • Attributes and metadata
    • 2D/3D models
  • Define and standardize generic electrical components, such as:
    • AC/DC power sources
    • Power supplies and battery systems
    • 3-phase motors and motor controllers
    • Relays, connectors, and protection devices
  • Prepare detailed electrical documentation:
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Cable schedules
    • Terminal layouts
  • Support electrical system design for GSE equipment such as:
    • Ground Power Units (GPU)
    • Tow tractors / pushback vehicles
    • Service and maintenance vehicles
  • Collaborate with mechanical and design teams for future 3D integration
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards (IEC, ISO, aviation-related norms where applicable)
  • Maintain version control and proper documentation of design revisions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience with SolidWorks Electrical
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electrical schematics and wiring systems
    • AC/DC power distribution
    • Industrial and automotive electrical components
  • Experience working from hand markups/redline drawings
  • Knowledge of wiring harness design for vehicles or equipment
  • Ability to create and manage component libraries
