Project Leadership & Execution
Lead end-to-end execution of SPM and automation projects — from concept development, design validation, procurement, assembly, testing, to customer acceptance.
Manage multiple projects ensuring delivery on time, cost, and quality targets.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning).
Prepare and track detailed project schedules, risk registers, and progress reports.
Design & Technical Responsibilities
Conceptualize and design automated assembly systems, fixtures, test benches, and material handling solutions using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD).
Develop mechanical and pneumatic layouts, actuator selection, and motion studies.
Work closely with electrical & controls teams for PLC / HMI / vision system integration.
Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and ensure adherence to machine safety and ergonomics standards (ISO 13849, CE, etc.).
Validate prototype designs and support machine trials and debugging.
Supplier and Customer Interface
Interact with suppliers for critical components (robots, actuators, sensors, control panels, etc.).
Support RFQ preparation, technical evaluation, and vendor finalization.
Manage customer reviews, FAT, SAT, and documentation.
Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure technical alignment and project transparency.
Quality & Documentation
Ensure all deliverables meet design and performance specifications.
Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and revision control in PDM/ERP systems.
Prepare technical manuals, training documents, and handover packages.
Strong expertise in SPM / automation system design — both mechanical and electromechanical systems.
Experience with automotive assembly automation, such as engine sub-assembly, fuel rail, clutch, seat, or trim modules.
Exposure to electronics or PCB component assembly automation, including screw tightening, pick & place, dispensing, soldering, and vision-based inspection.
Good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, and servo systems.
Knowledge of PLC logic, sensors, camera-based inspection, and motion control integration.
Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks / CATIA / AutoCAD).
Familiarity with industrial standards for safety, quality, and ergonomics.
Ability to create and track project schedules using MS Project or similar tools.
Strong leadership, planning, and conflict resolution abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Budget estimation, cost tracking, and vendor management experience.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Industrial Automation Engineering.
8–15 years of experience in SPM design, industrial automation, or assembly line automation.
Proven track record of leading automation projects for automotive or electronics manufacturing clients.
