Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Woodlands, TX and unanticipated location throughout the U.S.

Position Responsibilities:
Design and develop new HVAC products and improve existing designs using 3D CAD software Creo. Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for sheet metal and mechanical components. Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards. Collaborate with cross functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and quality assurance to support product development and launch. Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations (FRACAS and RCA) during new product introduction (NPI) to improve product reliability and resolve design issues. Responsible for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Design FMEA (DFMEA) and tolerance stack-up analysis for product reliability. Execute and support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities to ensure product readiness for manufacturing and compliance with quality requirements. Generate and maintain accurate Bill of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction projects. Troubleshoot design related issues and provide technical support to production and customers. Telecommuting and working from home permitted from anywhere in the U.S. Travel and relocation possible to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S. Domestic travel required approximately 10% of the time to various client sites.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technologies or Mechanical Engineering followed by 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive experience in the related occupation of Technical Lead or equivalent working on New Product Development (NPD)/New Product Introduction (NPI) life cycle from concept to production, Sheet metal component design, 3D CAD modeling and detailed drawing creation using CAD software Creo, Engineering calculations for mechanical integrity, torque, and airflow analysis, Prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration for product validation and support during manufacturing and testing phases. Travel and relocation possible to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S. Domestic travel required approximately 10% of the time to various client sites.
